A NEW ISSUE, A NEW LOOK

This is Fly Magazine’s Issue 39 has a bold new look. The confrontational cover photo shot by Nate Luke draws you in and the roller coaster ride begins. The new issue offers more content than any previous issue with 8 feature stories. Issue 39 includes two stories about Hurricane Sandy written by renowned anglers Capt. Brendan McCarthy and Pete McDonald who experienced the storm first hand. 2013 is going to be incredible with 46 contributors all eager to make This is Fly the most progressive collection of fly fishing content. Thank you to all our sponsors who have been generous enough to help make our publication possible.

Brad Bohen and Nate Luke head into the heart of darkness and realize Hell Is Never Too Far From Heaven. Anderson Cooper and CNN have stopped talking about Hurricane Sandy but we haven’t forgotten. Get a unique perspective from Capt. Brendan McCarthy, Pete McDonald and Nick Murray who share their experience. Returning writer and photographer C.B. Crumpler chases steel unicorns and discovers he lives within A Universe Not Quite So Cruel.

As usual This is Fly showcases artists and this time we interview Russell Leng who likes to hide behind his geometric shape collages. Skinny Water Culture’s Jeremy Chavez’s unique perspective on Texas Redfish is the most unique we have seen to date. The photography accompanying the story is insane, showing Redfish busting bait in the skinniest water possible. Our featured photographer is Greg Mionske who offers up a diverse, yet cohesive mix of X-Games, fly fishing, rock climbing and surfing. Greg thank you for the perfect concoction of ambiguous ingredients we adore. Finally the boys from Troutification offer an exclusive behind the scenes account of their film 268 Casts. After reading their story, The Fine Line Of Joy & Obsession will be obvious.
