Taos, New Mexico is back in a big way. Sure, some of the levels of big-name Western rivers are beginning to fall to manageable CFS levels, but even bigger and better happenings are going unnoticed. Like what? Well, New Mexico’s Forest Service re-opened the Carson National Forest and Cimmarón Canyon State Park this weekend. Places late-great American outdoorsman Edward Abbey called, “The place where tangible and mythical became the same thing.” Fish Taos, not only because it’s one letter away from fish tacos, but also knowing you might catch the best green drake hatch of your life, with no one around.
